Our sister Zemarit Alem Zegeye - beloved daughter of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church, whose life was dedicated to the service of our Lord, Savior and God Jesus Christ has departed to join the Saints in Heaven. Her body has been laid to rest in her native Kombolcha town - near the City of Harar. A memorial service has been conducted at her Debre Genet St Mary's and St Gabriel's church in Winnipeg, Canada today - November 20, 2011. Alem has upheld her purity and was living in Holy Communion. She was patient and soft spoken but fiercely loyal to her Orthodox Tewahedo Christian religion. She served the church with dedication, vigour and energy. We will all miss you dear Alem! You have been loyal to the Orthodox Tewahedo faith to your last breath. Your life is a model for us! We all love you. We pray that the Lord give us the strength to stand firm like you did in the one and true faith - Tewahedo - till the last second of our life. We pray that the Lord give us the strength to abhor sin and live in sanctity and Holy Communion like you did.
